
Vinicius Renê Lummertz
Vinicius Lummertz is a distinguished expert in tourism and public policy, with extensive experience in both the government and private sectors. He currently serves as chairman of the board of directors at Grupo Wish and is a co-owner of LG17 Consulting.
Lummertz’s public service career includes his tenure as Brazil’s minister of tourism under President Michel Temer. He also held key roles as president of Embratur (2015–2018) and national secretary of tourism policies at the Ministry of Tourism (2012–2015). From 2019 to 2022, he served as the state secretary of tourism and travel for the Government of São Paulo. In his home state of Santa Catarina, he served as secretary of planning, budget, and management and secretary of international articulation under Governor Luis Henrique da Silveira. He also founded and led the state PPP and Concessions Company of Santa Catarina and served as technical director of Sebrae Nacional during President Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s administration.
Lummertz is the first Brazilian fellow of the Milken Institute. He is a founding member of the Alliance of Tourism Municipalities of the Silk Road, headquartered in Beijing, and serves as head of tourism for LIDE Emirates. As an author, he has contributed to publications such as HuffPost and written books including Complexo Brazil, o difícil é fazer, and Brasil, Potência Mundial do Turismo.
He holds a degree in political science from the American University of Paris and completed executive education programs at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. He also earned his A-Levels in politics, government, and economics from D’Overbroeck’s College in Oxford.
