Roberto Campos Neto is a senior fellow within the International pillar at the Milken Institute and a distinguished leader in global finance with over 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He served as governor of the Central Bank of Brazil from 2019 to 2024, during which he was named Best Central Banker Globally by Central Banking magazine in 2021 and Best Central Banker in Latin America by Latin Finance magazine in 2022, 2023, and 2024. He was also the first governor of the Central Bank of Brazil to receive an “A” grade from Global Finance. Campos Neto is the creator of PIX, Open Finance, and DREX, and a leading figure behind the most significant financial innovation movement in Brazil’s recent years. Prior to joining the Central Bank, he was head of global markets at Banco Santander. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics.
