Alexis Halaby is a managing director of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and Head of Investor Relations for the D. E. Shaw group. In that capacity, Ms. Halaby oversees marketing and client servicing for the D. E. Shaw group's alternative investment platform and for D. E. Shaw Investment Management, L.L.C. ("DESIM"), which manages Active Equity, a suite of systematic, benchmark-relative equity strategies, and Orienteer, DESIM's global asset class investment platform. She is also a member of DESIM's Executive Committee and a rotating member of the D. E. Shaw group's Risk Committee. Prior to joining the Investor Relations department in 2008, Ms. Halaby spent more than four years as a member of the D. E. Shaw group's fixed income trading unit, where she traded G10 sovereign debt and interest rate derivatives and conducted investment research. She received her B.S. in biological sciences from Stanford University in 2003.
