Tim Reese

CEO, Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System

Timothy A. Reese is a successful senior executive and former Pennsylvania State Treasurer with 30 years of senior management, operations, and institutional finance experience within the public treasury, pension administration, and investments sectors. An expert in investments, business strategy, and operations, Mr. Reese has held several leadership roles in finance including operations, product development, and capital formation. Since November 2020, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System which administers more than 1,100 pension plans, serves 17,000 members, and has assets of more than $3.3 billion. As Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (2015-2017), Mr. Reese was a fiduciary for more than $120 billion in state funds and directed a $20 billion multi-asset portfolio. In his executive roles, he launched a $100M state-wide public-private infrastructure partnership and $500M Emerging Managers Program. As an operating manager, he founded several businesses including three that were successfully acquired. He began his career as part of the technology revolution, working with Honeywell before moving into finance. Mr. Reese earned a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Temple University and was a Fellow at the Temple University Fox School of Business. He holds FINRA licenses Series 7, 79, 52, and 63.
