Sameh Shenouda

Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC)

Sameh Shenouda, Executive Board Member and Chief Investment Officer of AFC, leads origination, execution, and portfolio management across multiple sectors, bringing over 27 years of experience in infrastructure investments, project development, and fundraising. Since joining in 2021, he has overseen c.$6bn of investments in power, natural resources, heavy industries, technology, transport, logistics, and sovereign lending, with landmark projects such as Infinity Capital’s acquisition of Lekela Power – making Infinity the largest renewable energy company in Africa, Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms, Cap-des-Biches IPP, Dangote and Cabinda refineries, M-Kopa, Kamoa Kakula Copper mine and exits from MainOne and Takoradi Port. Previously, he was CEO of Zarou, Head of Infrastructure at CDC (now BII), Natural Gas Industries Director at Orascom Construction, and Investment Principal at Actis. Sameh holds an MBA from the University of Exeter, degrees in Development Studies and Economics from the American University in Cairo and is an INSEAD graduate and member of the UK Institute of Directors.
