Paul joined EIA in October 2008, as one of its founding employees, following the formation of the Authority in November 2007. EIA is the exclusive investment manager for the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates and is responsible for the management of the Federal Government’s surplus balances as well as supporting the Ministry of Finance, in respect of its own investing activities.
Paul is responsible for the portfolio construction and deployment of the Authority’s capital into private credit investments in third party global managers in both Fund, co-investment and direct investments. This is a large global mandate, focused on delivering high and consistent long term alpha returns across an investment cycle.
Paul qualified as a chartered accountant with the Institute of chartered accountants in England and Wales, holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and holds an investment management certificate from the UK Society of Investment Professions.
Prior to joining Emirates Investment Authority, Paul was a principal at a London based Structured credit manager, commencing his career within the financial services team of Arthur Andersen, where he was responsible for asset management and pension fund clients.
