Oskar Lewnowski

Founder and Group CEO, Orion Resource Partners

Oskar Lewnowski is the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Orion Resource Partners (“Orion”), a leader in private capital provision to the mining sector. Over the past twelve years, Mr. Lewnowski has created more than $10 billion in investment value, deploying capital to 80+ portfolio companies in 29 different countries. Orion’s private capital platform also includes a first-of-its-kind royalty and streaming business dedicated to building long-term annuity cash flows in agricultural, industrial, and specialty metals. Alongside its mine finance business, Mr. Lewnowski launched Orion’s liquid trading business by building a hedge fund ten years ago dedicated to long/short relative value and directional trading in metals futures and options. Under his tutelage, Orion also recently founded Orion Industrial Ventures, a deep-tech venture capital fund focused on improving mine economics and sustainability and Orion Resource Equities, a long-only, public equities fund with daily liquidity. In 2025, he founded the Orion Critical Minerals Consortium, alongside ADQ, an active sovereign investor and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (“DFC”), the U.S. government’s development agency. The Orion CMC has a $5 billion fund target to construct supply chains for critical materials from emerging market sources. Mr. Lewnowski remains responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the firm. Prior to Orion, Mr. Lewnowski was a founding partner of the Red Kite Group, the largest metals hedge fund in its day and Chief Investment Officer of its mine finance business. Mr. Lewnowski commenced his professional career with roles in investment banking, and sales and trading at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.
