Nneile Nkholise

Founder, Thola Inc.

Nneile Nkholise is a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur dedicated to building technology that drives social and industrial transformation. She is the founder and CEO of Thola Energy, a company using artificial intelligence to help factories coordinate energy use, reduce waste, and improve grid stability across industrial corridors. Her work focuses on creating intelligent systems that make industrial operations more efficient, sustainable, and insurable. Before founding Thola, Nneile built and led several pioneering ventures. She founded iMed Tech Group, a biotechnology company that used 3D printing to produce custom fitted breast prostheses for women who had undergone mastectomies. She later founded 3DIMO, an agri tech company that developed an AI system for livestock biometric identification, creating unique digital IDs for over 17,000 cattle across Southern Africa. Beyond engineering and entrepreneurship, Nneile has held notable leadership roles in sport. She served as Deputy President of University Sport South Africa, Deputy Head of Delegation for Team South Africa at the 2013 World Student Games in Kazan, and Secretary of the Free State Sport Confederation, the provincial body of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee. Her diverse experience reflects her passion for leadership, innovation, and social impact. Through Thola, she continues to reimagine how industries use energy and how technology can foster equitable access, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth across Africa and beyond.
