Joseph McMonigle is a leading authority on energy, international business and politics. He is the former Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF), the largest international organization of energy ministers from 72 producing and consuming countries focusing on energy security, market stability, data transparency and energy transitions.
He is the former Vice Chairman of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Board of Governors, former Chief of Staff at US Department of Energy, and former General Counsel and communications director to a United States Senator.
He is currently the President of the Global Center for Energy Analysis, an independent organization providing original research and analysis on global energy markets and issues. McMonigle is Chairman & CEO of Alula Advisors, a management consulting firm headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy.
