John Kamara is a globally recognized AI and data transformation expert, entrepreneur, and ecosystem builder with extensive experience in driving AI adoption, capacity development, and commercializing research across multiple sectors. As the Founder and CEO of AICE Africa (Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence Africa), Board Director at MIIA, the machine intelligence institute of Africa, he is pioneering AI-driven solutions to accelerate digital transformation across the continent.

John is also the founder of Adanian labs a startup venture studio setup in 2020 and over the past five years has grown, developed and supported over 60 startups across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia.

John is actively involved and heavily invested in new technologies focusing on IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence), having worked in market growth leadership roles for

global technology companies at Google, Digicel, BMC Software and others.

John is also the visionary behind AfyaRekod, an AI-powered health data platform revolutionizing patient-driven healthcare access. His work at the CREATES Centre for the Nelson Mandela Institute in Arusha supported research-to-commercialization methodologies, bridging academia and industry to foster African-led AI innovations.
