Some of Silverbacks’ landmark investments include: Moove, an African born, global mobility fintech company which was recently backed by UBER, with operations in over 29 cities across five continents, Wave Mobile Money, a leading Africa based Fintech company, recently backed by STRIPE, enabling global payments and remittances, Forever7 Entertainment which successfully sold two African movies to NETFLIX, African Warriors Fighting Championship (AWFC), a combat sports platform recently sponsored by STAKE (an official sponsor of UFC), and the Cape Town Tigers, a semi-finalist basketball team in the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) tournament of the NBA as well as a finalist in a 2023 CBA tournament in China.He serves on multiple boards including FEDA, MIT Kuo Sharper Center for prosperity and entrepreneurship, Global Sports Summit’s Governing Body, and Beacon Media. He is the host of the IN THE VALLEY business podcast and serves as a mentor for emerging leaders at Draper University and the Ignyte flagship economy initiative by the Crown Prince of Dubai.His three decades career in global finance includes roles with institutions like IMF, AFC, Afreximbank as well as asset managers like Millennium and ECP. He holds Masters and Bachelors from Boston College as well as executive degrees from INSEAD, LBS, and HBS.
