Editha Mshiu is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Freshpack Technologies, where she leads AI-driven innovation in sustainable manufacturing and climate-resilient food systems across East Africa. Her work focuses on advancing accessible post-harvest cooling and supply-chain technologies that reduce food loss and improve livelihoods for informal market vendors and smallholder farmers.
She is a Semifinalist for the Milken-Motsepe Prize in AI and Manufacturing and a recognized emerging leader in Africa’s climate and agri-tech ecosystem. Her career highlights also include major entrepreneurship awards such as the GoGettaz Impact Award, Tony Elumelu Foundation Award, TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge, and Ayute Africa Challenge, alongside participation in the Halcyon Fellowship, Royal academy of engineering and other global innovation programs.
Before founding Freshpack, Editha worked extensively in horticulture and agribusiness, strengthening value-chain efficiency and market access for rural producers, particularly women and youth. These experiences shaped her commitment to technology that supports inclusive economic growth and climate adaptation.
Editha holds a degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture. She remains a dedicated advocate for leveraging artificial intelligence and local manufacturing capacity to build a future where African food systems are more resilient, equitable, and economically empowered.
