Derick Chunga is the President and Chief Strategist at BleagLee. He leads the design and implementation of operations at BleagLee’s Cameroon and Senegal field locations and the strategic engagement with investors and key stakeholders. He oversees the company’s work on the promotion of a circular economy through integrated waste management and the transformation of waste into finished products and high-value manufacturing inputs.

Prior to BleagLee, he worked in Business Processes Quality Improvement and Risk Management at Ontario Health at Home, a crown corporation of the Provincial Government of Ontario, Canada. In this role, he led Quality Improvement and Change Management initiatives, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Risk Management, Service Optimization and Strategic Planning in collaboration with service provider organizations contracted by the institution.

Derick holds a master’s degree in Development Finance from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, University of Brussels (ULB) where he was awarded the EMP scholarship, a second master’s degree in Agriculture and Rural Development from the University of Gottingen in Germany, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Green BeltCertified Project Lead and Data Analyst.
