John Schellhase

John Schellhase is an associate director at the Milken Institute Center for Financial Markets, where he manages projects and contributes to research on deepening and strengthening capital markets in developing countries and contributes to the Institute’s financial markets education programs. Based in Madrid, Spain, he also is part of the Institute's growing team in Europe. Schellhase has worked as an international development consultant whose clients included the government of Rwanda’s Capital Markets Authority, FSD Africa, Vikasa Holdings LLC, and others. In 2012, he received the Brussels Forum Young Writers Award from the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Earlier, Schellhase served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines for two years. He holds a master of science in global affairs from New York University, where he won the 2013 Best Thesis Award from the NYU Center for Global Affairs.
