Brad Young is Global Co-CIO of Private Markets at Mercer Alternatives based in Richmond. Mr. Young joined Pavilion Alternatives Group in 2004, which was acquired by Mercer in 2018. Mr. Young co-leads our global private markets investment team, overseeing all advisory services and working directly with clients and their portfolios. Mr. Young has been in the financial services industry since 1985, focusing on private equity, private markets, and real assets since 1996. Previously, Mr. Young was Director of Private Equity at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was one of a three-person team that managed all aspects of the domestic and international private equity program, representing MIT on fund advisory boards. Prior to that, he spent five years at the University of Richmond as Director of Private Investments where he directed all aspects of the domestic private equity portfolio. He also held the position of Trust Officer and Manager for Crestar Bank. Brad Young holds a BA in History from Hampden-Sydney College and a MBA from Wake Forest University.
