Ben Lawsky is the Head of Regulatory Affairs at New York Digital Investment Group. Prior to joining NYDIG, Ben was New York State's Superintendent of Financial Services, leading a 1,400-person regulatory body with responsibility for oversight of the more than 3,800 US and non-US banks and insurance companies with a nexus in NY. In that role, Ben also spearheaded creation of the BitLicense, the first regulatory licensing scheme for digital currency businesses. Ben is also a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University's Cyber Initiative, and was co-chair of NY Governor Andrew Cuomo's Cyber Security Advisory Board. Ben holds a JD and a BA from Columbia University.
