Michelle Ye Hee Lee is The Washington Post's Tokyo bureau chief, covering Japan and the Koreas. Her coverage area spans foreign policy, domestic politics, gender, climate and more. She is based in Tokyo. Previously, she was a reporter on The Post's national politics desk. Prior to joining The Post in 2014, she covered politics and government at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Arizona.
