Mary Ng is a globally respected leader in international trade and economic growth. From 2018 to 2025, she served as Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business, and Economic Development, becoming the longest-serving trade minister in the country’s history. During her tenure, she led Canada’s relationships with the USA and Mexico under CUSMA/USMCA, with the European Union through CETA, and in the Asia-Pacific region, chairing the CPTPP Commission in 2024. She played a vital role in Canada’s strategic engagement with ASEAN and advanced the Indo-Pacific Strategy to enhance trade ties, overseeing key agreements like the Canada-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership.On the global stage, Mary represented Canada at the G7, G20, WTO, and APEC, consistently positioning the country as a reliable, rules-based trading partner.
