Edgar Amador has been Mexico's Secretary of Finance and Public Credit since March 2025. Previously, he served as Undersecretary of Finance and as an Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Mexico. He also held other positions within the Mexico City government, including Secretary of Finance and
Administration and CEO of the state-owned company Calidad de Vida, Progreso y Desarrollo de la Ciudad de México.
In the private sector, he worked at Brokerage House; Stone McCarthy for Mexico and Brazil; and served as Deputy General Director for Mexico at the french bank Dexia.
Edgar Amador holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a Master's degree in Economics from El Colegio de México.
Additionally, he is a professor at the Faculty of Economics at UNAM, the country's highest educational institution.
