David Razú Aznar is an economist with extensive experience in the financial sector. He is an expert in financial administration, social security and labor economics. He has been CEO of Afore XXI Banorte since 2021. During his tenure, XXI Banorte became the largest pension fund in Latin America, as well as the leader in responsible investment for the country and the region.

Prior to that, he held various positions in governmental and financial institutions, both nationally and internationally, related to social security, labor markets and urban development financing. In the political arena, he served as a deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Mexico City, where he was the promoter of the equal marriage initiative in 2009, the first to be approved in Latin America.

He holds a degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, where he also obtained a diploma in stock market finance, and a master's degree in Development Administration from the LSE and another in Public Administration from Harvard University. He was a professor of deficit financing and public debt at the National Institute of Public Administration and an assistant professor of intermediate economics at ITAM.
