Carlos Serrano is currently the Chief Economist at BBVA Mexico.He previously served as Vice President of Regulatory Policy at the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) and has also worked at the World Bank.He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).In the academic field, he has served as a professor at ITAM, teaching courses in Advanced Macroeconomics and Finance at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught courses in Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, and International Economics.He received the National Economics Award granted by Banco Nacional de México in 1999.
