
Alejandra Botero is a seasoned development finance professional, currently serving as the Manager of Investments and Financial Development at the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF). Previously, as Manager of Planning and Development Impact, she led strategic planning, budgeting, and impact evaluation, helping drive CAF’s transformation toward green and sustainable growth.
From 2021 to 2022, Alejandra served as Director of Colombia’s National Planning Department (DNP), where she led post-pandemic recovery efforts with a strong focus on social safety nets and economic development. She also played a key role in advancing the multipurpose cadaster policy, expanding land registration coverage across the country.
Prior to this, she served as the Presidential Advisor for Management and Compliance (Delivery Unit), facilitating the implementation of 66 high-priority government projects. Her private-sector experience includes roles at McKinsey & Company and leading CAF’s Private Sector Innovation Program from 2014 to 2018.
Alejandra holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Swarthmore College.
