Takashi Imai

Takashi Imai is Managing Executive Officer of SMBC Global Investment & Consulting ("SGIC"). SGIC is 100% owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group ("SMFG"), one of largest financial conglomerate in Japan. SGIC is in charge of fund sourcing, due diligence as well as monitoring of external funds for SMFG's variety of fund business including discretinary investments & fund distribution. SGIC is also responsible for making house views of major asset classes to advise clients to create diversified portfolio across asset class and regions. Pior to joining SGIC, Takashi was a head of Asset Management Business at SMBC Nikko Securities. Prior to SMBC Nikko, Takashi held variety of senior positions including Managing Director and head of Product Management at BlackRock Japan. Takashi started his career at ITOCHU Corporation. Takashi graduated from Tokyo Institutite of Technology (now Institute of Science Tokyo) as well as participated in Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
