Matthew Vincent

Mr Matt Vincent is currently the Regional Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific (“APAC”). He has over 30 years of investment experience over 12 years of which at the Regional Chief Investment Officer level. In his current role, he is also accountable for managing APAC investment management staff for the delivery of agreed investment plans and objectives, planning staff development and ensure robust succession plans; expanding the unit linked distribution activity/product set within the Region; driving strategies to optimise the net investment income result, subject to solvency capital consumption, risk budgeting and available asset classes; undertaking merger and acquisition due diligence (for investment management) through to recommendations for country, and regional opportunities; and ensuring best practice to in-house asset management (Malaysia, Indonesia and India).

He holds a Bachelor of Economics, from Newcastle University, Australia. He graduated with a Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), Australia and also holds a Diploma, from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). 

In previous roles he was the Regional Chief Investment Officer based in Zurich. He co-formulated a composite top down/bottom-up strategy for unit-linked business globally to build out the unit linked platform - key element of Group’s 2020-2023 strategic ambition; and co-led the launch of an ICAV retail unit-linked product (Zurich Blue) focused on margin capture and margin creation as well as launched ESG equity Funds. He was also the representative for Investment Management in the UK/ Group Brexit branch strategy execution (covering investment strategy and asset transition planning) for general insurance plus reinsurance entities. He was also responsible for managing Bermuda and Swiss reinsurance, and treasury balance sheets whilst at Corporate Centre.

Matt has worked at Zurich Insurance for twenty years, across business units in Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Switzerland. Prior to joining Zurich, he worked for eleven years at an asset management firm in Australia (Advance Funds Management).  

Mr Matt Vincent currently serves as an Executive Director of Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Bhd; Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Bhd; and Zurich Finance (UK) PLC.
