Jarek Olszowka is Managing Director and Head of Green & Sustainable Hub, Asia Pacific. He is focused on originating and executing green and sustainable solutions across all asset classes, helping clients access capital in sustainable format and advising on their transition journeys. Jarek has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. In his most recent role, he
was Nomura’s International Head of Sustainable Finance and member of its Fixed Income Syndicate. Since 2018, he led Nomura’s investment banking sustainable finance efforts, working with capital markets, financing and advisory teams globally to maximize ESG-related business opportunities. He first joined Nomura in 2014, as a Capital Solutions and Liability Management structurer and originator.
Jarek has executed in excess of USD 250 billion of labelled debt financings in the past few years, including the largest ever green and social bonds globally and advised the Japanese government on setting up its approx. USD 1 trillion-equivalent GX Transformation Program. Prior to that, Jarek worked at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, advising clients on structured
products, financing and hedging solutions, strategic equity and the bank’s own principal and merchant banking division investments.
Jarek is also a fully qualified English banking and capital markets lawyer and has worked for leading international law firms, Clifford Chance and CMS Cameron McKenna, advising global investment banks and investors on derivatives and structured products, direct equity investments, crossborder M&A, financing and corporate restructurings.
