Anjali Bansal is a veteran investor, entrepreneur, and business person focused on frontier innovation, deeptech, and multidimensional impact at scale. She is the Founder of Avaana Capital, investing in globally competitive solutions in critical sectors such as energy, climate, advanced manufacturing, AI and robotics, semiconductors and quantum computing, agriculture and food systems, biotechnology, and advanced materials. Anjali has been an active investor and mentor to successful startups including Nykaa, Delhivery, Urban Company, Darwinbox, Agnikul, Eeki Foods, Aerem, Capillary and Amperehour. Prior to founding Avaana, she served as the Non-Executive Chairperson of Dena Bank, appointed by the Government of India to steer the stressed bank’s resolution and merger with Bank of Baroda. She was a Global Partner and Managing Director at TPG Growth, and earlier served as Global Partner and India CEO at Spencer Stuart. Her career began as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York, and earlier as an engineer at ISRO. Anjali serves as an independent director on leading boards including Tata Power, Nestlé, and Maruti Suzuki. She has been appointed to the committee for NITI Aayog, the Advisory Council of ONDC, and the board of GIFT City. Anjali is a member of YPO and a charter member of TiE. She has been listed as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Business” by leading Indian publications, including Business Today, Fortune and Forbes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
