HE Yousef Al Otaiba currently serves as the UAE Ambassador to the US and Minister of State at the Embassy in Washington, D.C In Washington, D.C., his primary focus has been to grow UAE-US relations through security and economic cooperation, cultural exchange, healthcare, educational alliances and philanthropic initiatives.
Since his term began in 2008, he’s sparked powerful partnerships with US institutions, including the Special Olympics and the Harvard Kennedy School, among many others. Coming from the Arab World, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba has also worked hard to cultivate peace, cooperation and understanding between the Middle East and the US. Committed to this cause, he played a significant role in the Abraham Accords normalization agreement in 2020. Since then, he has continued to advance regional collaboration and innovation, championing new initiatives focused on artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology and strategic investment through UAE-US partnerships. His recent efforts highlight the growing role of technology and innovation in strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, including through the UAE Preferred initiative. In March 2025, the UAE reaffirmed its partnership with the US with a $1.4 trillion economic commitment over the next decade.
