Steven J. Carnevale is a venture capitalist and Founding Partner of Blue Ash Ventures, a social impact accelerator advancing brain health and human flourishing. Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom, he serves on the California Commission for Behavioral Health.
He is Executive Director of the SPARC Foundation, a human-centered research and design nonprofit embedded at Penn State University, and Founder and Chair of the UCSF Dyslexia Center Advisory Board. He also co-founded the California Institute for Law, Neuroscience, and Education.
Mr. Carnevale is Lead Advisor to ESO Ventures, a social impact fund supported by $18 million in public–private partnership funding from the State of California, launching thousands of new businesses in underinvested communities.
He previously helped establish the University of Michigan’s Center for Entrepreneurship and serves as the Emeritus President of the Olympic Club Foundation, which supports youth sports in disadvantaged communities.
