Simon has spent over a decade at the intersection of climate, innovation, and cities, creating and leading initiatives that have generated more than $5B in economic impact. He helped design and launch the first urban tech incubator in the U.S. with NYU and the NYCEDC; co-produces the Urban Tech Summit at Cornell Tech and was a Strategic Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Obama Administration. In 2017, Simon founded CIV:LAB, a nonprofit developing and funding place-based innovation programs across New York, Detroit, and Los Angeles. Simon is a Founding Fellow at the UCL Centre for Sustainable Business and lectures on cities, entrepreneurship, and innovation at University College London, Imperial College Business School, and NYU's Center for Global Affairs where he was the Kissane Energy Fellow during his Masters Degree. He serves is on several boards including world renowned architecture firm, Terreform One, where he serves as the Chair. Most recently Simon has Founded 'The Purpose Fund', an early stage venture capital fund focused on building companies strengthening community resilience in America and combatting inequality. Simon's work focuses on building collaborative solutions to society’s greatest challenges to create triple-bottom-line impact.
