Roberto Lazzeri Montaño
Chief Executive Officer of Nafin and Bancomext
As of August 18, 2025, Roberto Lazzeri Montaño serves as Chief Executive Officer of Nacional Financiera (Nafin) and the National Bank for Foreign Trade (Bancomext). He was appointed to this position by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, through
the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Edgar Amador Zamora.
Roberto Lazzeri Montaño holds a degree in Economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) and has over 20 years of extensive experience in both the public and private financial sectors.
He began his public sector career in 2005 at the Ministry of Finance of what was then the Government of the Federal District, now Mexico City, managing the local public debt portfolio.
In 2009, he served as Financing Structuring Manager at the National Bank for Public Works and Services (Banobras), where he specialized in structuring and financing subnational debt.
Prior to his current appointment, he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, a position he held since July 2022.
Lazzeri Montaño has also held senior leadership roles within the same ministry, including Executive Director of Public Debt and Executive Director of Fundraising.
