Chief Investment Officer, Malaysia, Employees Provident Fund
Mohamad Hafiz Kassim joined the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Malaysia in 2008 and is currently the Chief Investment Officer. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer, where he played a key role in strengthening EPF’s financial governance and capital management framework.
Throughout his tenure at EPF, Hafiz has held several senior leadership positions within the Investment Division, overseeing major portfolios including Private Equity, Capital Markets and Real Estate. He also served as Managing Director of Kwasa Land Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the EPF, from April 2020 to May 2021, where he led the development of over 2000 acres near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Prior to joining EPF, Hafiz gained extensive experience with leading organizations such as Daiwa Capital, PwC and Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
He currently serves on the Boards of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), Axiata Group Berhad and Yarra Park City Pty Ltd.
Hafiz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Accounting and Finance) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a CFA Charterholder, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
