Miguel Silva

Miguel Silva is an Investment Manager within the Sustainable Investments team at CalPERS, where he leads strategy and oversight for emerging manager platforms across private markets. He focuses on identifying and scaling high-potential managers through a combination of direct investments, fund-of-funds, and seeding partnerships, with an emphasis on accessing less efficient segments of the market to drive long-term risk-adjusted returns. He works closely with asset class leadership, external advisors, and investment managers to source opportunities, conduct diligence, and support disciplined capital deployment aligned with CalPERS’ total portfolio approach.

Miguel brings over two decades of experience across institutional investing, private market sponsorship, and capital formation, including prior roles as a real estate investor, financial advisor, and commercial brokerage professional. This cross-platform perspective informs his approach to manager selection and portfolio construction.

A first-generation Portuguese American, he is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and holds dual B.A. degrees from the University of California, Davis.
