John E. Shaw has over 30 years of experience in national security space and aerospace engineering, focusing on leading large global organizations. His expertise in executive decision-making, risk management, and combat operations has driven transformations in strategy and culture, as well as the integration of allied and commercial capabilities into national security missions. John was among the first to join the U.S. Space Force. As a three-star general and Deputy Commander of U.S. Space Command, John led 12,000 personnel and managed a $525M budget, overseeing the defense of critical space assets. He previously commanded 14th Air Force (U.S. Air Force) and Space Operations Command (U.S. Space Force), leading 10,000 personnel globally in military space operations. John is an Advisor to NewSpace Capital, a top-performing private equity firm of investor-operators which backs leading growth-stage companies in the space market, using the team's expertise and network to help companies scale faster. It makes growth-stage investments in companies solving critical challenges in areas such as the manufacture of components, broadcasting and telecommunication, earth observation, and navigation.
