Jacob Soboroff is the Senior Political and National Reporter for MS NOW. He is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Firestorm: The Great Los Angeles Fires and America's New Age of Disaster and Separated: Inside an American Tragedy. Separated was adapted into an acclaimed film by Academy Award-winner Errol Morris. For his reporting on the Trump administration’s child separation policy, Soboroff received the Walter Cronkite Award for Individual Achievement by a National Journalist, the Hillman Prize for Broadcast Journalism and, in 2024, was named a recipient of the Yale University Poynter Fellowship in Journalism. He is also the recipient of a Ruben Salazar Journalism Award from the California Chicano News Media Association, and was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy® Award for his reporting from Haiti. He lives in Los Angeles.
