Fatima Angeles

Executive Director, Levi Strauss Foundation
Fatima Angeles is the Executive Director of the Levi Strauss Foundation (LSF), an organization dedicated to outfitting movements and leaders fighting for a just and abundant world. LSF funds in the areas of democracy, immigrant rights, reproductive justice, and worker rights and well-being. Before joining LSF, Fatima served as Vice President of Programs at The California Wellness Foundation. In this role, she provided executive leadership and strategic vision for the foundation’s grantmaking and program-related investments. Her tenure at Cal Wellness also included roles as Director of Evaluation and Learning, Program Director, and Program Officer. Fatima's philanthropic journey began as a Program Associate at the Hasbro Children’s Foundation. She also worked with The Commonwealth Fund and Pfizer Inc.'s corporate philanthropy program. Her experience extends to working with youth in San Francisco, where she was the director of the South of Market Teen Center and coordinator for Asian American Communities Against AIDS. Currently, Fatima serves on the boards of John Muir Health, the CARESTAR Foundation, and the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy. Her previous board memberships include Confluence Philanthropy, the Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation, Grantmakers In Health, Northern California Grantmakers, Asian and Pacific Islander Health Forum, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, and Funders Concerned About AIDS. Fatima holds a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in biology from UC Berkeley.
