Eskedar Tilahun

Eskedar Tilahun is a seasoned financial markets and operations professional with deep expertise in securities exchange development, money markets, and strategic stakeholder engagement. She currently serves as Senior Operations Manager for Money Markets at the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), where she has played a pivotal role in establishing and scaling Ethiopia’s interbank market driving liquidity expansion, strengthening trading systems, and supporting the successful rollout of the country’s automated trading platform.

In her role, She works closely with key regulators and institutions to refine market frameworks, enhance transparency, and promote efficient secondary market trading. She is actively involved in market development initiatives, fostering collaboration across banks, investors, and public institutions while contributing to policy dialogue and capacity-building efforts that support a sustainable financial ecosystem.

Previously, Eskedar was a founding member of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange project team, where she contributed to the design of operational frameworks, financial modeling, investor capital mobilization, and stakeholder engagement. Her work was instrumental in laying the foundation for Ethiopia’s first securities exchange and building awareness among domestic and international investors.

She holds a BA in Business Administration and MA in Project Management, combining academic rigor with practical leadership in advancing Ethiopia’s financial markets.
