Emily Bertsche is a Managing Director at The Kresge Foundation, where she focuses on the private investment portfolio, including venture capital, buyout, real estate, and natural resources. She is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and managing relationships across a diversified set of private market investments.
Previously, Emily served as Director of Growth Assets at the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, where she oversaw both private and public equity portfolios for the nation’s largest non-governmental purchaser of healthcare benefits.
Emily was born and raised in Chicago and earned a bachelor’s degree in the Science of Foreign Service from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
Outside of work, she is an avid runner, a dedicated New York Times crossword enthusiast, and a mother of two.
