Dongyoung Kim

Howard Kim serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Hanwha Asset Management (USA) Ltd., where he focuses on building the firm’s U.S. investment platform with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, robotics, and deep technology. He is a member of the Investment Committee and is involved in sourcing, investment decision-making, and portfolio construction.

Howard has spent most of his career within the Hanwha ecosystem, joining the group in 2009 and working across venture capital, growth equity, and global PE/VC investing — most recently as Head of Venture and Growth Investments at Hanwha Asset Management USA before assuming his current role. He has had the opportunity to help build Hanwha’s U.S. venture presence from the ground up, including its Emerging Manager Program.

He believes in taking a patient, partnership-oriented approach with founders and works closely with co-investors and limited partners across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Howard holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Finance) from Sungkyunkwan University, is a CFA charter holder.
