Brian Kreiter

Co-founder and CEO, Braidwell

Brian Co-Founded and is the Chief Executive Officer of Braidwell. In 2022, Brian co-founded Braidwell Labs, which conducts bench-side due diligence and operates as a discovery and launch engine for new technologies and medicines. Previously, Brian served as the Chief Operating Officer of Bridgewater Associates, a multi-billion-dollar investment manager for governments, central banks, pension funds, endowments, and foundations. At Bridgewater, he codeveloped the firm’s Sustainable Investing initiative, was a member of the Board of Directors, and held key leadership roles, including Chief of Staff to the firm’s founder, Ray Dalio. 

As Department Head of Client Service, Brian oversaw the firm’s commercial activities and delivery of consultative advice. Earlier, as Department Head of Investment Research, he worked with the firm’s CIOs to develop an understanding of the global economic system and translate that understanding into systemized, signal-based investment strategies. Brian was also Chairman of the Board of Elemental Cognition, an artificial intelligence company he launched as a partnership between Bridgewater and Dr. David Ferrucci, principal investigator of IBM Watson. 

Earlier in his career, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising a range of clients, including alternative investment managers. Beyond his professional work, Brian co-founded LIFT in 1998, a national organization that helps families break the cycle of poverty—an effort for which he and his co-founder received the 2004 National Jefferson Award for Public Service. In 2020, he co-founded NeighborShare, a technology-driven nonprofit that enables frontline heroes to identify and connect “neighboring” donors with families in need. Brian holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
