Barry Silbert is the Founder and CEO of DCG, a global investor and incubator building a decentralized future to unlock economic and societal opportunity. A pioneer in blockchain investing, Barry established himself in 2012 as one of the earliest and most active investors backing many of the leading global digital assets companies today, including Coinbase, Circle, Chainalysis, eToro, and Kraken.
In 2015, Barry founded DCG, one of the most prolific investors in decentralized technologies. Today, DCG has invested in over 250 early-stage companies in more than 40 countries around the world, and owns subsidiaries including Grayscale, Foundry Digital, Luno, Fortitude Mining, and Yuma. Barry launched the first Bitcoin investment vehicle in 2013, founding Grayscale Investments to provide institutional-grade access to the emerging digital asset class and growing the company into the largest digital asset investment platform in the world. He served as CEO of Grayscale for eight years and continues as Chairman.
Most recently in 2024, Barry founded and serves as CEO of Yuma, a decentralized AI company that invests in and scales the Bittensor network. Barry was the founder and CEO of SecondMarket, a venture-backed technology company that was acquired by Nasdaq. Barry has received numerous accolades including being named Entrepreneur of the Year by both Ernst & Young and Crain's, and being selected to Fortune’s prestigious "40 under 40" list.
Barry began his career as an investment banker in New York and graduated with honors from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.
