Tanya Bennett

Australian Consul-General, Los Angeles

Ms. Bennett was appointed Australia’s Consul-General in Los Angeles in December 2023. She is a senior career officer with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Assistant Secretary, First Nations Taskforce. She also led the Department’s Media and Strategic Communications team and has served as a lead trade negotiator. She has previously served overseas in Japan and at Australia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. Ms. Bennett speaks French and Japanese and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Queensland and a Masters of Foreign Affairs and Trade from Monash University.
