Stefan Haselwandter

Senior Advisor, Milken Institute

I currently serve as a Senior Advisor to the Milken Institute, and as a board member and advisor to other organizations. Prior to my withdrawal from the Partnership in June 2024, I worked at Wellington Management for over 17 years, most recently as Vice Chair and global head of the firm’s client platform, which includes the product management, fund sponsor, business development, client service and marketing functions. I was a member of the firm’s Operating Committee, Capital Commitments Committee, Strategic Relationship Advisory Committee, and the board of directors of Wellington Management International Limited (WMIL). As Vice Chair, I served as a senior member of the firm’s Management Team and acted as an aide to the CEO and president with respect to the strategic initiatives and external affairs of the organization, with a focus on representing our firm with clients, prospects, government and industry organizations, and other stakeholders. Before joining Wellington Management in 2007, I was a senior associate at Bain Capital, where I evaluated and executed private equity transactions in retail, health care and other sectors (2005 – 2007). My prior experience is as a management consultant with Bain & Company (2001 – 2003) and in equity capital markets with Goldman Sachs & Co. (1999 – 2000).

An abstract graphic of rounded lines forming a circle on a dark blue background. The lines are pink and blend into purple in an ombre circle, with just a portion of the circle showing on the screen. The graphic signifies the design of The Milken Institute's Global Conference 2025, an annual forum that brings together leaders from business, finance, and other fields to discuss economic and social issues.
