Sam Kennedy

Partner and CEO, Fenway Sports Group

Sam Kennedy is a Partner and CEO of Fenway Sports Group (FSG), a global sports, marketing, media, and real estate company. At FSG, Kennedy manages the strategic direction of its global portfolio of teams, properties, and business ventures. He also serves as President and CEO of the Boston Red Sox and leads Fenway Sports Management and Fenway Sports Group Real Estate. 


Kennedy became a partner in FSG in March 2021, joining the ownership group alongside prominent investors including RedBird Capital, LeBron James, and Maverick Carter. Since then, he has established and led a dedicated Strategy & Growth team focused on identifying and pursuing opportunities for future expansion. He was appointed CEO of FSG in March 2024 further solidified his role in shaping the company’s global strategy and operations. 


Beyond his responsibilities at FSG, Kennedy is an investor in Strategic Sports Group (SSG), a consortium of American sports team owners that made a minority investment in PGA TOUR Enterprises, the commercial arm of the PGA TOUR. In 2024, SSG finalized a major financial and strategic partnership with PGA TOUR Enterprises to enhance revenue generation for PGA TOUR players and promote the global growth of golf. Kennedy serves on the Board of Directors of PGA TOUR Enterprises, where he helps guide all commercial activities. 


With over 30 years of experience in Major League Baseball, Kennedy began his career as an intern with the New York Yankees in 1993. He later joined the Boston Red Sox in 2002, following six years with the San Diego Padres from 1996 to 2001.
