Nayef Alhajraf

Chairman and Co-Founder, Capital Asset Management

His Excellency Dr. Nayef AlHajraf, currently serving as Chairman and Co-Founder of Capital Asset Management, is a distinguished policymaker, regulator, visionary leader and forward-thinking strategist. With over 25 years of experience and knowledge, Alhajraf is renowned for his extensive contributions in leading public and private sectors, financial and investment institutions and educational leadership. He is the 6th Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, serving from 2020 to 2023, and Kuwait’s 19th Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Kuwait Investment Authority, serving from 2017 to 2019. Prior, Alhajraf served as Kuwait’s Chief Securities Regulator in his capacity as Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait’s Capital Markets Authority, from 2014 to 2017, where during his tenure, Kuwait Stock Exchange (Boursa Kuwait) witnessed a significant reform and qualified for FTSE and MSCI indices. Alhajraf also served as the Minister of Education and Higher Education from 2012-2014. In addition to his primary roles, AlHajraf has served on various policy and corporate boards, including Kuwait’s Supreme Petroleum Council, Bahrain and Kuwait Bank, and the Arab Investment Company. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and is the Co-Founder of Capital Asset Management, DFSA regulated. AlHajraf holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and a Masters in Accounting degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Kuwait University.
