Molly Murphy

Chief Investment Officer, Orange County Employees Retirement System

Molly Murphy has more than 30 years of investment experience and currently oversees the investment portfolios as Chief Investment Officer of the Orange County Employees Retirement System with assets under management over $24 billion. Ms. Murphy is a graduate of Miami University and Xavier University and is a CFA charter holder. Under her direction, OCERS has been recognized by numerous organizations for its innovative approach to pension investing and was named the aiCIO Magazine 2018 Public Pension Plan of the Year (Small Plan category). As Chief Investment Officer of OCERS, Ms. Murphy was named as one of the 2020 All-Star Chief Investment Officers by Trusted Insight and as one of the 2021 Global Top 50 Women in Investment Management by Institutional Investor. She was awarded the 2022 CIO Industry Innovation Award for Public Defined Benefit Plans ($21 billion to $99 billion), and since 2021, she has appeared on the aiCIO Magazine Power 100 List, recognizing the top CIOs from across the globe. In 2023, Ms. Murphy was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50 List, honoring women leaders, creators and difference makers in four broad categories: innovation, impact, investment and lifestyle.
