Leigh Ann Caldwell is Chief Washington Correspondent at Puck, where she regularly contributes to the flagship political private email, The Best & the Brightest. Leveraging her veteran Capitol Hill expertise and unique relationships on both sides of the aisle, Caldwell regularly reports on the latest news shaping national politics. She is building out Puck’s presence in Washington, D.C. with a live event salon series featuring politicians and newsmakers. Caldwell joined Puck from The Washington Post, where she was co-author of its Early Brief newsletter and an anchor for Washington Post Live. She has broken major news from Capitol Hill, including Republican efforts to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Democrats’ effort to cajole President Biden to drop out of the presidential race. She is a former correspondent for NBC’s congressional unit and has previously held positions at CNN, CBS News, and C-SPAN. She won an Emmy for her coverage of the January 6 attack on the Capitol and received the Joan Shorenstein Barone Award for Excellence in Congressional Reporting in 2018 for her leading role in NBC’s coverage of sexual harassment on Capitol Hill. Caldwell has covered every presidential and midterm election since 2008.
