Katherine Mulhern

Co-Founder and CEO, Restitution Capital

Katherine Mulhern is the co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Restitution Capital, the first impact litigation funder that focuses on recovering assets lost or stolen from governments through corruption. Restitution turns claims against bad actors who extracted these illicit financial flows into an investable asset. Working with lawyers and investigators, Restitution goes after these assets and returns them to victim governments in a way that is transparent and accountable. Prior to founding Restitution, Katherine was the CEO of three large not-for-profits based in the UK, the US and West Africa, which focused on impact litigation for civil society and democratic governments and the investigation of illicit financial flows. Prior to her work in the third sector, Katherine was a senior law firm partner in the UK and the US providing advice to newly democratic, post conflict governments on governance, transparency and accountability. Before she was a lawyer, Katherine was an investigator for an African Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

An abstract graphic of rounded lines forming a circle on a dark blue background. The lines are pink and blend into purple in an ombre circle, with just a portion of the circle showing on the screen. The graphic signifies the design of The Milken Institute's Global Conference 2025, an annual forum that brings together leaders from business, finance, and other fields to discuss economic and social issues.
