Juan Cortina Gallardo

Chairman and Executive President, Grupo Siembra

Juan Cortina is a Mexican citizen born in August 1968. He is fluent in Spanish and English, and he holds a B.S. in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) 87-91 and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School 96-98. Grupo Siembra (1998 to date) Mr. Cortina is Chairman and Executive President of Grupo Siembra, an agro-industry platform that participates in the production sugar and other ag products together with logistics and energy production. In the Mexican private sector, He was President of the Consejo Nacional Agropecuario (2021-2025) and currently is Vice President to the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial and heads the Mexican private sector in trade negotiations. Mr. Cortina participates in the boards of Organización Cultiba (1999 to date), Grupo Financiero Santander (2024 to date), Fly Across (2018 to date) and Centro Interacional de Mejoramiento del Maiz y Trigo CIMMYT (2024 to date). He is also part of the international advisory council of Rabobank. Mr. Cortina has been a board member for the past 15 years of the Fideicomiso Pro Bosque de Chapultepec, a private public partnership that has the objective of maintaining and preserving the Bosque the Chapultepec in Mexico City. He is also a member of the Patronato of the Museo Rufino Tamayo and he also serves as Vice President of the Patronato del Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso.
