
Cheryl D. Alston is the former Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of the Employees’ Retirement Fund of the City of Dallas, a $3.8+ billion pension plan for the City’s civilian employees. Cheryl is an independent director on the board of Globe Life Inc., Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, and Janus Henderson mutual fund board. Cheryl was named as one of the most influential corporate directors by Women Inc. Magazine and one of the most influential Black corporate directors by Savoy Magazine. Cheryl received a Presidential Appointment to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) Advisory Committee from 2011-2016. She has served as an independent director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. Cheryl was recognized by D CEO Magazine Power 500, 2024 Visionary award from Institutional Investor, Dallas Power 50, and the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC) Pacesetter award. Cheryl is active in the community and has served on non-profit boards and foundations including The Arts Community Alliance (TACA), Dallas Mavericks Advisory Board and Clara Lionel Foundation. Cheryl has an M.B.A. in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School at New York University and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
