Andrew Hickl

Andy Hickl is the Chief Technology Officer at the Allen Institute in Seattle, Washington, where he leads efforts to apply computational techniques to advance data-driven discoveries in biology. With over three decades of experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning, he has a track record of implementing technology effectively across various domains. Hickl has previously held leadership roles at major organizations like Microsoft, Intel, and Accenture, where he developed AI innovation programs. He also played a key role in the founding of the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Vulcan Proving Ground. Additionally, he co-founded three AI-focused startups: Swingly, Extractiv, and A.R.O. Inc.
